Description:
Astride the River Pang, a diverse woodland wildlife treasure trove and a haven of peace and beauty within the M4 corridor.
Set deep in the heart of the Pang valley, near Pangbourne, Berkshire, Moor Copse is renowned for its woodland flowers, butterflies and moths.
The view of the Pang is said to have inspired Kenneth Grahame to write the children’s classic Wind in the Willows – and it is still home to ‘Ratty’ (the water vole) today.
Best time to visit: spring and summer
