Description:

A wonderful mixture of old and new in north Bucks. This old oak and ash woodland has a dense understorey of hazel and blackthorn. The dense regrowth of younger woodland is much favoured by small mammals including dormice. Mice and voles also find cover here, attracting predators including stoats, foxes and birds of prey.

The flower-rich woodland rides are a magnet for butterflies such as the scarce wood white, whose caterpillars feed on vetches.
