Description:

Fifty-eight hectares of heathland and lowland valley bogs with secondary woodland around the perimeter.

Hothfield contains Kent's last four valley bogs and one of its few remaining fragments of open heath with patches of acid grassland.

There are no marked trails at present, but plenty of the paths make circular routes possible and there is a sign, with a map of the paths, at the main entrances to the reserve.
