Description:

A small urban fringe site of around two hectares. The reserve has an area of chalk grassland with a wide variety of species such as pyramidal and common spotted-orchids and common blue and small heath butterfly. The rare grey mouse-ear can be found growing in the more open spaces. Parts of the reserve appear to have been much disturbed in the past but have now been colonised with scrub and woodland, which supports a variety of species including birds such as whitethroat and willow warbler. The slope’s valleys and occasional long-forgotten vehicles provide basking areas for common lizard and slow-worm.
