Burwash
Burwash stands on a ridge in the High Weald AONB between two valleys, providing spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Its attractive High Street is lined with pollarded lime trees and fine old houses. Batemans, home of author Rudyard Kipling, lies on the edge of the village and is set amongst splendid gardens.

Pevensey
Originally built on an island surrounded by the sea, Pevensey is a charming little village steeped in history. The village now lies around one mile inland, and boasts a castle dating back to the Romans, and a nearby bay that is widely believed to be the landing place of William the Conqueror.

Rye
Rye is an ancient port town lined with half-timbered houses, cobbled streets, and interesting shops. As one of the original Cinque Ports, Rye was once a fort almost totally surrounded by the sea. The sea has long since receded, with the coast now two miles away.
