Activities to enjoy in and around Alresford
Once you have explored the historic streets of Alresford with the help of its popular Millennium Trail, there are plenty of choices for discovering the beauty of the surrounding South Downs on foot, horseback or bike or even by steam train. With a choice of popular long distance routes passing close by, and the route of the former Meon Valley Railway offering excellent opportunities for tranquil nature-spotting you are never short of a breath of fresh air. But the Meon and Itchen Rivers are also celebrated for fly fishing, and you could choose to spend happy days on the riverbank in Izaak Walton’s territory in the anticipation of taking home a fine Hampshire trout by way of a souvenir.
