Millennium Trail
Starting at the station, spend a relaxed morning discovering Alresford using the Millennium Trail, which uses a series of existing paths round the town to provide a pleasant and informative walk of about one mile. Details of what can be seen during the walk are shown on illustrated boards, which give information on the history of Alresford, its inhabitants, wildlife and countryside setting. Details are also contained in a separate leaflet, Alresford Millennium Trail, which is available from the Station Information Office, the Library and many of the shops in the town as well as being reproduced on www.alresford.org. The walk is suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs and a description of the walk in braille is also available at the Station and the Library in Broad Street. When you finish the Trail in East Street, you can enjoy lunch at The Globe on the Lake just off Broad Street or at one of the many other pubs in the town.

Broad Street
Walk to Winchester
If you feel like a day walking, try the 9-mile walk from Alresford to Winchester following St. Swithun’s Way, the route the pilgrims took. Imagine yourself back in time in this unspoilt area, picnic and relax beside a stream watching the ducks and trout, or enjoy some excellent pub grub in one of the many old villages. The route is easy to follow and is generally flat, although the path can become wet and muddy. If you don’t feel like the return walk, catch a Stagecoach bus 64, X64, 67 back to Alresford. www.stagecoachbus.com.
