There’s plenty to see and do in the village itself, but why not explore a little further afield during your time in Chilham? Here’s a small sample of the many places you can explore and things you can do:
- For the serious walkers - walk to Wye following the Stour Valley Walk and visit the Devils Kneading Trough at Wye Nature Reserve. Return to Chilham on the North Downs Way, following the north side of the valley or back by train
- A day out shopping and sampling Canterbury’s pubs and restaurants, alternatively visit the Cathedral, St Augustine’s, Museum and the Pilgrims Hospital, or perhaps enjoying the theatre and galleries.
- Visit Faversham for the Shepherd Neame Brewery Tour, Oare Gunpowder Works and the Brogdale Fruit Collection
- Take a trip to the Village of Wye , perhaps including a visit to Perry Court Farm and the Agricultural Museum at Brook
- A Castle tour taking in the three castles of Dover, Walmer and Deal
- A day’s gliding lesson at Kent gliding club
- Spend a day at Leeds Castle
- See some of Kent’s finest gardens at Beech Court, Goodnestone Park or Mount Ephraim
- Walk on the wild side at Howletts and Port Lympne zoological parks, or the slightly less exotic Stodmarsh nature reserve
- Explore historic Rye, or the Churches of Romney Marsh
- Indulge in some retail therapy at the Ashford Shopping Outlet
- Visit the ancient woodlands of The Blean
