Walking
Pages: 1
Steyning is just as good for short walks and gentle strolls as it is for long-distance walking. With many miles of footpaths, there is something for walkers of all abilities.
The Downs Link
The Downs Link is a long distance national path for Walkers, Riders and Cyclists. The route runs between Guildford and Botolphs nr Bramber following closed railway routes for most of the way. Where the route ends at Botolphs it joins the South Downs way and The Coastal Link path to Shoreham by Sea. The route passes through a variety of countryside areas well worth seeing and at Loxwood it is very near the Wey and Arun Canal. The route is approximately 36 miles long.

The SouthDowns Way
The 160 kilometre long South Downs Way follows the old routes and droveways along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs. The route provides the visitor with the opportunity "to get away from it all" without having to travel too far in this busy part of England. The undulating route provides a wonderful trip for long distance riders as well as walkers. It is easily reachable via a short climb from Steyning.

Steyning Nature Trail
A walk of medium difficulty of 2-3 miles, the Nature Trail comprises two routes, known locally as the Upper and Lower Horseshoes. The upper route involves a steep climb but rewards you with excellent views of the surrounding countryside.
