Description:
Bedgebury National Pinetum and forest is the premier outdoor site in the Southeast of England. With nearly 10,000 trees and shrubs the Pinetum is the most complete collection of temperate conifers in the world, it is also an important site of ex situ conservation and a centre of excellence. Our summer programme has a wealth of family, activity and cultural events.......
BEDGEBURY FESTIVAL OF CYCLING
Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th July. Coaching, cycle skills, displays for all ages and abilities. The event will run from 10am till 4pm each day (Bedgebury will be open as usual from 8am - 8pm) and will involve free coaching sessions and races organised by British Cycling and the Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club, with the assistance of Bedgebury Cycle Coach Ollie Ireland.
Kent Air Ambulance will also be organising a fund-raising treasure hunt round the Family Cycle Trail on Sunday. Quench Cycles will be offering discounts on cycle equipment and servicing. Marin will be showcasing their range of bikes. Apart from the usual car parking charge of £8, the event is free of charge. WILD LIFE SAFARI
Wednesday 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th August.
10.00am – 12.00 noon ages 5+ years
Bedgebury’s Pinetum and forest provides a haven for many wild animals. A mini-beast hunt will introduce us to some of the smaller inhabitants, and we will look for evidence of other inhabitants as we walk in the area around the Walled Garden. The morning will finish with the children making a beautiful dragonfly to take home. Price £6 per young person
FAMILY MAP CHALLENGE
Thursday 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th August.
10.00am – 12.00 noon. Ages 7+ years
An exciting way to experience Bedgbury’s Pinetum. Come and pit yourselves against the clock to find our markers hidden around the site. Families or friendship groups will find their own way around with the help of a special map. A basic briefing will make sure you don’t get lost. These events will be held in the Walled Garden, where cars can also be parked. Price £6 per young person
GREAT EXPECTATIONS (open air theatre)
Tuesday 17th August.
Quantum Theatre brings the Dickens family classic to life in Bedgebury's Walled Garden. Shows start at 11am and 3pm. Tickets priced at £7 (children) and £12 (adults) now available through the Forestry Commission Box Office on 01842 814612 or from Bedgebury Visitor Centre.

Bedgebury is open every day except Christmas Day. Entrance is free - please see our website for all visitor information, including car parking charges and opening times.
The Pineatery Cafe is open from 10am until 3pm daily selling baguettes, soup and sandwiches, and until 5pm selling teas, coffees and cakes. It also has childrens tapas offering a range of small dishes to tempt even the fussiest young eater. Please note at present they do not accept card payment. If you are visiting with a larger party and would like to order food in advance please call 07739 564691. We also have picnic benches available if you want to bring your own food.
