Walking West Sussex Festival

Pull on your walking boots and enjoy the beautiful countryside that West Sussex has to offer in this year’s festival. We are offering you the opportunity to join walks devised especially for the event, each taking place within a 12 mile radius of Arundel.

There are 5 walks a day to choose from, each led by local and knowledgeable guides – including representatives from the National Trust, the RSPB and the Sussex Downsmen. The routes range in difficulty and length – some are half day, some are full day and some are designed for the evening. Featured villages and points of interest on the walks include Petworth Park, Stane Street, Parham Park, glimpes of the Isle of Wight cliffs and the flint village of Slindon. On all walks, your leader will point out features of interest which relate to the history, wildlife or architecture of the scenes you pass. Some walks will have a break for lunch, where you may have the opportunity to visit one of the local hostelries for a well-deserved snack. The event centres in Arundel, and all walkers will meet each day at the Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. From here, a free shuttlebus has been arranged to transport you to the start of your chosen walk, and then back again at the end. The Wetland Centre are offering special ‘walkers packed lunches’ which can be ordered when registering for your walk. Alongside your free shuttlebus transport, your festival ticket also entitles you to free access to the Wetland Centre for that day. Prices - £7.50 for one walk £22.00 for unlimited walks Places are limited, and walks are already booking up fast, so please contact us now to ensure that you get the walk(s) of your choice.
