RACING SOUTH EAST AIMS TO BE A WINNER

A consortium of racecourses in South East England is celebrating its launch by offering a new programme designed to attract more people to horseracing fixtures throughout the region.

Racing South East is a partnership between the horseracing and tourism industry, an association of 11 racecourses, the British Horseracing Board (BHB), totesport and Tourism South East (TSE), the region’s strategic tourism body. The consortium has created a programme called ‘Classic Package’ which offers a new way to experience racetrack excitement, colour and glamour at affordable prices. The package will be launched at two of the region’s busiest courses this weekend, Lingfield Park on 19th March, and Fontwell Park on 20th March. It includes entry to premier enclosure, car parking, a race day programme, a welcome drink, guided tours of the racecourse, a £5 totepool betting voucher and afternoon tea in an area with bar/cafeteria – and all for just £30. The ‘Classic Package’ is the perfect vehicle for participating racecourses and BHB to attract new visitors to the sport. The package will also be introduced at Ascot and Kempton Park following completion of current refurbishments.
