Walking West Sussex Festival comes to Singleton
This is the fifth year that West Sussex County Council will be organising the Walking West Sussex Festival, and the Weald and Downland Museum with its six centuries of traditional rural buildings, will be host to this very popular event which runs from the 10th – 14th October 2007.
Set in the delightful unspoilt countryside in the glorious South Downs, the area has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country and certainly some of the best walking in the British Isles.
For the second year running the walking festival will be joined by ‘Poems and Puddings’, which is about developing and exploring the arts and cultural lives of people in Rural West Sussex through the themes of heritage, landscape, literature and food.
The festival will have a selection of over 20 guided walks to chose from covering distances of between 2 to 12 miles, with varying terrain from flat and easy to steep hills and longer climbs. Guides will bring the experience to life with their local specialist knowledge and their enthusiasm. Whether it’s a full days walk or something more akin to an entertaining stroll followed by a picnic or lunch at the lakeside café, there will be something for all ages and all abilities.
