FISHING IS ON THE UP AT NEW SURREY LAKE
“Come and fish, everything’s looking good!” is the proud call from Ian Ford of Priory Farm Fishing Lakes at Nutfield near Redhill.
Ian, himself a keen fisherman, is delighted to report that 4.2 acre Hogtrough Lake, which was dug in 2000, is regularly showing record catches.
“Some of the carp are touching the 30lb mark and still growing,” says Ian. “The plantings are maturing well too, so it’s not just the fish that are looking good. “
Hogtrough is one of three lakes at Priory Farm. The second newest lake, Hungerford, was built in 1980, and Ian confirms that this is also performing well.
“This lake produces phenomenal individual weights caught in a day – 200lb plus – and is an excellent match water.”
The original and oldest lake – the picturesque Priory Lake, established by the Victorians in 1860 – continually impresses with excellent carp and crucian carp catches.
Ian has a message for prospective new members: “Come and have a look. We’ve got a limited number of memberships available and there’s never been a better time to join!”
