Longines and equestrian sports: elegance and precision in Hickstead
With a passion for equestrian sports, Longines is responsible for timing various CSIO events including the Meydan FEI Nations Cup. This year the famous Swiss watch brand will once again have the pleasure of being the Official Timekeeper and Partner at the Longines Royal International Horse Show in Hickstead (Meydan FEI Nations Cup of Great Britain).
Longines’ vast experience in timing equestrian events dates from its involvement in the Concours Hippique International Officiel de Genève in 1926. As an official partner and timekeeper for the Longines Royal International Horse Show, the famous Swiss watchmaker will continue with its commitment to the world of equestrian sports that is more than 80 years old. Since the early days of its involvement in this field, the brand is proud to have taken part in over one hundred national and international equestrian events and to have been responsible for timing many competitions such as world championships, European championships and various other CSIO and the Arab Equestrian League.
The Longines Press Award for Elegance
True to tradition, at the end of the season the Swiss watchmaker will present the Longines Press Award for Elegance. This prize is a tribute to the most elegant and most successful male and female riders of the season. The harmony and collaboration between the rider and his or her mount are observed closely in the judging. The riders who compete in the Dublin Horse Show and who have accumulated the highest points in their performances at the first 6 Nations Cup competitions where Longines is a partner are short-listed. At the last event of the season, namely in Dublin, a jury comprising international equestrian journalists will elect the most elegant female and male rider from among those in contention.
