The public consultation on the future of the public forest estate in England began on 27th January 2011. The consultation will run for 12 weeks until 21st April.

Shipbourne Farmers’ Market in the money as it launches its own currency

Shipbourne Farmers’ Market is launching a creative solution to one of the major problems that shoppers face at rural Farmers’ Markets: lack of cash machines. This Thursday will see the release of the Shipbourne Farmers’ Market Pound. Customers will be able to buy both £2 and £5 notes from the pub next door, the Chaser Inn, using their credit or debit card, and then use them just like cash at any of the market stalls.
