BackBack

We provide a number of online forms that allow our users to submit information for inclusion on to the site. This includes information for our directories covering local producers, routes (walking, cycling and equestrian), events, news, farmers markets and farm attractions. To help this process, we have provided a short guide below on how to use the forms.

Mandatory fields

Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) must be completed otherwise the information will not be sent. If you do not complete a field and attempt to ‘send’ the form you will receive a pop up message detailing the field that is incomplete. Simply click ok, locate and complete the missing information and resend.

The screenshot below displays the first two fields for the event form, both of which are mandatory. In this case we require a name for the event and a category type.

Multiple choice fields

There are instances where you are given the option from a pre defined selection, and in some cases you may want to choose more than one option.

The screenshot below shows one such example. In this case you can select more than one category for a local producer.

Images

A selection of the forms has the facility for you to send us an image to accompany the text that you have entered into the fields for a particular form. We require the format of the image files to be either JPG or GIF. If your image is in another format, you can use an image editor (such as Photoshop or Microsoft Paint) to export the image into one of the required formats. As a general rule, detailed images such as photos should be sent in JPG format.

In addition, you can only send images via these forms if the file size is less than 2 mb (megabytes).

To send an image click ‘browse’ alongside the field, locate the image you would like to send (at this point you can confirm if it is the correct format and below the maximum file size), select the image and click ‘open’. The location of the image will then appear in the white box. You can now move onto the next field. When you do ‘click’ send once the form is complete, along with the text information, the website will attempt to send the image from the location you have specified in the white box.

The screenshot below displays the image field and the ‘browse’ button.

Website

When entering a website address, please ensure that the ‘http://’ is maintained.

The screenshot below displays the website field.

Rich text fields

The screenshot below displays what we refer to as a rich text field.

Rich text fields allow you a degree of control over the text that you wish to display for certain fields. This can be anything from bold/italic/underlined text and adding web links.

Where possible, please keep rich text changes to a minimum.

A guide to each icon’s function can be found at the bottom of this guide.

Time

When a user clicks ‘send’ on a form there is the possibility of an error and the form information being lost. (This could be caused by a loss of internet service, unforeseen downtime at the website end or a problem with an image being sent). We would suggest, particularly for long fields, that you first write your field information in a separate offline file such as a Word document.

Send

If successful, after clicking the ‘Send’ button you will receive a confirmation message.

Problems

Any problems, or further questions you have about the forms, please email jblair@tourismse.com

Authorisation process

We will receive notification of each completed form and will look to authorise each within 48 hours. Where required, we will contact you by email/phone for any further information or clarification.
