Route Description 4.5 mile walk from Cliffe Woods, through woodland and open fields to the village of Spendiff, returning through the woods. great bluebells in Spring, many butterflies and nightingales, military history and woodland management on route.
Terrain Details Woodland tracks which can get muddy but not impassable in winter. Two short walks uphill. Some walking along very quiet roads.
Additional Info / Warnings Dogs should be kept on a lead in the woods to prevent disturbance to ground nesting birds such as pheasants and woodcock. The woods are used for game shooting at certain times of year. Do not stray off of the main tracks.
Access Info / Public Transport Parking is available at Parkside Road, Cliffe Woods. Bus 133 and 193 connect Cliffe Woods with the Medway Towns and Railway stations.
Services / Amenities Food can be bought from the shops in Cliffe Woods. No toilets on route. Nearest pubs are in Cliffe or Cooling approximatly three miles away from the route.
