Route Overview A generally flat, easy walk starting from Brookwood station. The route follows the towpath of the Basingstoke canal passing locks and canal boats. At St. John’s Lye in Woking, the route leaves the canal and heads south across the railway, crossing Hook Heath then rejoining the towpath to return to Brookwood station.

Access Info / Public Transport Trains run between London Waterloo and Basingstoke, and London Waterloo and Alton, stopping at Brookwood seven days a week (service provided by South West Trains. Buses run between Woking and Guildford via Brookwood station (number 28, provided by Arriva). Buses also connect Woking with Brookwood Station, Frimley and Farnborough (number 48, provided by Countryliner). Parking: Brookwood station has a pay and display car park.
Services / Amenities There are toilets at the station and at the recreation ground near point 5. The Brookwood pub is by the station, and there are a number of shops near point 5.
